Create your own universe

Term 01 · ages 8–12 · Doha. Over eight weekly sessions, your child invents a creature, writes its adventure and turns it into a narrated trailer, ending with a showcase for parents.

Eight weeks, one growing world. Nothing is thrown away between projects. The creature from week one is the hero of the story in week four and the star of the trailer in week seven.

Session
What happens
Describing precisely · working within constraints · iterating
01
From head to page
Sketch the creature on paper, then describe it precisely enough that the AI draws what you pictured, not what it guessed.
02
Powers, habitat, identity
Set the rules of the creature’s world, compare versions side by side and choose the one that’s truly yours.
Story structure · cause and effect · editing
03
The shape of a story
A beginning, a problem, a turning point and an ending, mapped out before anything is generated.
04
Draft and illustrate
Write the scenes and illustrate them, keeping the creature recognisable from page to page.
05
Edit like an author
Read it aloud, cut what drags and fix what the AI got wrong.
Storyboarding · sequencing · teamwork · presenting
06
Storyboard the trailer
Pick the moments that matter, put them in order and write the narration, helping each other along the way.
07
Narrate and assemble
Record the voice-over, sequence the scenes and rehearse the presentation.
08
The showcase
Parents are invited. Each child presents their creature, story and trailer, and explains what was their own idea, what the AI added, what went wrong and what they changed.

What 90 minutes looks like. Every session follows the same rhythm, so children know what to expect and can spend their energy on the work.

Minutes per step

Hands-on with AI 35 min

The rest of the session is spent discussing examples, planning on paper, watching a demonstration and presenting to the group.

Four habits that outlast any tool. The tools will keep changing. What we teach is the thinking around them, and children practise it in every session.

Express

Turn the picture in their head into words precise enough for someone else, or something else, to act on.

Experiment

Try it, change one thing, try again. Constraints turn it into a game.

Evaluate

Look hard at a result and decide whether it’s really what they meant.

Improve

Edit, cut and rework until the piece is theirs, then stand up and present it.
