Ten missions, one format

Every mission is 45 minutes: a hook the teacher reads aloud, 25 minutes of building in the workspace, a share on the projector and one debrief question. Pick any one; they stand alone.

Each one teaches a single idea about AI

The idea is the sentence a child can say afterwards. The build is what they make to get there. The AI helper plays a role in each mission and never does the work for them.

No.
Mission · the idea
What the children build
Inventing · describing precisely · iterating
02
Invent a Creature
Precise prompts beat vague ones
A creature card (name, habitat, food, superpower, weakness), a three-sentence encyclopedia entry written with the helper, and a picture they fix by fixing the words, not the card.
03
Comic Strip Hero
A story needs a problem
A hero with one talent and one fear, a problem that uses the fear, four panel captions approved one by one, and a picture of the panel they like best.
09
Invention Workshop
Start from the problem, not the gadget
One small annoying problem, an invention card with an honest downside, a 30-second advert in their own words, and a product picture.
Choosing words · editing · instructions
01
Say It Clearly
Details make the difference
A vague sentence about their dream room, then a five-detail version, then a picture from each. The second picture shows why the words mattered.
06
You Make the Rules
Instructions shape behaviour
Three rules for their own robot, written in a Rules box the helper has to follow. Then they try to catch it breaking them, and discover the rules it will never break.
08
Poem Machine
Edit, don’t accept
Five words about a moment, a four-line poem back, then at least three words changed to make it theirs, with the helper saying honestly which lines got better.
Checking facts · explaining · reasoning with rules
04
Postcard from the Past
Check it before you trust it
Three facts about a place they have studied, one checked with the teacher or a book, a postcard home, and a photo-style picture of the place with nobody in it.
05
Fact or Fib?
AI can sound sure and still be wrong
Three statements from the helper, one false, said in the same confident voice. They find the fib, then write three of their own to fool the helper. Chat only.
07
Explain It to a Martian
If you can explain it, you understand it
The teacher enters this week’s topic. The children explain it to a Martian who takes everything literally, until the Martian can explain it back, then draw a picture that would help.
10
Design a Planet
Imagination plus rules
Size, distance from its sun and the air, with a planet scientist who says what each choice means for life there. Then a creature that could survive, and a picture of the surface.

What 45 minutes looks like

Every mission follows the same rhythm, so children spend their energy on the work and teachers know exactly what comes next.

The four parts

Minutes · share of the mission
Hook5 min11%
The teacher reads the hook from the launch page while the children join with the class code.
Build25 min56%
Four steps in the workspace with the AI helper, pictures where the mission allows them, and a board for what they keep.
Share10 min22%
The class gallery on the projector. Three or four pieces, with the maker saying what they changed and why.
Debrief5 min11%
One question from the brief that turns the activity into the idea.

Minutes per part

Hands-on with AI 25 min

The build is capped per child: 40 messages and up to 8 pictures per mission, shown to the child as a bar rather than a number so it never becomes a game.
